Thank you always for supporting cafe capyba.
◆ About Pecan, the capybara at cafe capyba ASAKUSA
Pecan, the capybara living at cafe capyba ASAKUSA, has a congenital misalignment of his teeth and jaw, which has caused inflammation and pus on the right side of his front teeth, resulting in swelling on his right cheek.
To prevent further swelling and inflammation, his right cheek is currently incised to keep the affected area clean.
However, surgery is necessary for a fundamental improvement.
◆ About Pecan’s surgery
We have decided to perform a tooth extraction surgery for Pecan on May 7. Although the procedure carries certain risks, it is essential for his long‑term recovery.
The surgery will be conducted under a fully prepared system with several experienced veterinarians.
◆ About the operation of cafe capyba ASAKUSA
For the surgery and postoperative care, cafe capyba ASAKUSA will be temporarily closed from May 7 to May 17.
We sincerely apologize to guests who were planning to visit during this period, but the health and care of our capybaras are our top priority.
We kindly ask for your understanding.
During the closure period, please visit cafe capyba (Hikifune Location).
Pecan is not showing signs of pain, is eating well, and is otherwise spending his days as usual.
We are sorry for causing concern.
Although he currently has a wound on his face, we hope you will continue to interact with him just as warmly as before.
